Each of these is a live simulation with the same timings, curves and styles as Director's engine.
2× by default, from 1× to 6× in quarter steps with the wheel. It lands in 520 ms like a camera operator, then glides after your pointer, averaged over 150 ms so it never shakes.

Vertical from a wide monitor: the crop tracks the cursor even without zoom, so the short never sits on the same strip.
Dims everything else to 72% and lights a soft-edged window around your cursor. It slides as you move and fades out when you're done.

Every shortcut shows up in the video with what it did, so viewers can follow along. A new one replaces the last.

One window, start to finish
Director's own window, simulated: the track while you record, the editor when you stop, and the shelf where every take waits.
The track fills in as you fire hotkeys: every zoom, spotlight and note lands on its lane in real time.
Stop and the take opens in the editor. Drag a block, it snaps into place, the monitor shows the exact frame. Re-export.
New take puts it on the shelf, lit up so you see where it went. Open any take to edit it again.
